1. Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Responsibilities
- The selected professional will be responsible for mechanical design coordination and technical support throughout the design and construction process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead mechanical MEP design coordination and provide design inputs for civil construction activities.
- Review Mechanical, Architectural and Structural drawings for constructability and compliance.
- Review mechanical design calculations related to HVAC, water supply, ventilation, hot water, storm water drainage and other building services.
- Review water demand, water balance, fire-fighting systems and infrastructure utility designs.
- Review flood risk assessment and mitigation measures related to MEP infrastructure.
- Study Design Basis Reports (DBR), concept design reports and design submissions.
- Prepare and review Builder’s Work Drawings, fabrication drawings and coordination drawings.
- Coordinate mechanical services with Electrical, ELV, Fire Alarm, BMS and other MEP systems.
- Verify MEP space planning, shaft sizing and service routing with architectural and structural teams.
- Identify design discrepancies and raise RFIs where required.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, clients and statutory authorities for approvals and technical clarifications.
- Review material submittals against project specifications and site requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues related to design implementation.
- Coordinate with Civil and MEP execution teams to ensure proper implementation of design intent.
- Review fabrication, procurement and equipment/material delivery schedules.
- Monitor MEP progress and prepare periodic progress reports.
- Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings and technical discussions.
- Provide engineering solutions to construction-related technical challenges.
- Lead and mentor the Mechanical Design Coordination team.
Qualification & Experience
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- 8–10 years of relevant experience in Mechanical MEP Design, Design Coordination and Site Engineering.
- High-rise building construction experience is mandatory.
- Experience with a reputed PMC, EPC, design consultancy or international construction organization is preferred.
